Jamie Melvin – Founder & Head Guide
Born and raised in Kenya, Jamie has spent his life chasing fish on every continent (except Antarctica). His deep experience includes world-class destinations like the Galápagos, Seychelles, UK chalkstreams, and African rivers. But what sets Jamie apart isn’t just his fishing record — it’s his passion for teaching, coaching, and helping others become better anglers.
“Over my years working as a guide and manager in the Seychelles and The Bahamas, I saw something missing in the fly fishing travel world and this is what lead me to create Uniquely Fly.
Lodges tend to push through 12 clients a week, and not one of them really gets the attention they need to become better anglers.
Our goal is to deliver trips for small groups, highly personalised to your fly fishing development. We go deep into the ecosystem we are fishing in with you to develop understanding, provide pre-trip coaching, and review our time on the water every evening to refelect on what to do better and what was done well. ” — Jamie Melvin
