Uk - The River Eden and Chalk Streams

Classic Trout & Grayling on the Chalk Streams or Wild and Rugged on the Eden

Sight fishing for brown trout and grayling in the gin clear Chalk Streams of Hampshire and Wiltshire is as iconic as fly fishing gets, and is a bucket list item.

However, if you are looking for something new, or find the Chalk Streams a tad tame, come up north to fish one of the most beautiful wild trout rivers in England, the Eden.

About Fly Fishing The Chalk Streams & The Eden

The Chalk Streams & The Eden couldn't be more different if they tried. On the one hand, you have the tame, crystal clear, gently flowing waters of Hampshire and Wiltshire where you throw delicate casts to sighted fish.

On the other, the Eden is bold and wild, flowing through a deep red sandstone valley in Cumbria with large pocket water, rapids, freestones, all of which you have to navigate while fly fishing to water where fish are likely holding, rather that sighted fish.

There is nothing quite as engaging and immersive as wading up a trout river all day long, casting nymphs and dry flies to willing trout and grayling.
